Pajama Pants + Shredder = Awesome!

October 28, 2008
I know, a little creepy, but the polar bear pajama pants were on their last leg, so I put them in the paper shredder.  Last weekend we got some things done around the house.  We finally finished painting the front door, aerating the yard, and blew the water out of the sprinkler system for the winter. Gillian got her new social security card in the mail today, she didn’t want me to take a picture of it for some reason.  I posted more Gordie vs Olive videos.  Gordie had two teeth removed last week after slamming into Uno (Gillian’s Uncle’s dog) and breaking them, while chasing a ball at the dog park, he was completely unfazed.

The Band, Back Together Again

October 19, 2008

Last weekend, we didn’t go anywhere!  Instead Santi and Sarah, Chris and Kathleen, and Retzer and Lisa came to Grand Island!  Santi, Sarah, Chris, and Katleen got here Friday night and spent the night doing what has become somewhat of a tradition,  drinking beer and playing Rock Band!  Retzer came in on Saturday afternoon while Lisa was at a baby shower, we watched the Husker game then played more Rock Band.  Saturday night was all about the Karaoke at the Upper Deck. We were all jealous of the fat man in the skin tight, fish net shirt, but disappointed he did not sing “I’m too sexy”.

The weekend was alot of fun and consisted of the usual events; Santi recording a fart on my camera, Retzer chasing the dogs around the back yard, and Kathleen falling out of a chair.

American Party…in the Back

October 7, 2008
Last weekend was Santiago’s “Welcome to America” Party.  In honor of him becoming a US citizen we had a pony keg of Empyrean LunsSea ESB, (Local Lincoln Brew), hamburgers and hot dogs, and of course a mullet wig.  Santi received a few gifts that could only be found in America, but not necessarily made in America.  Fun was had by all, too much fun in my case, and no one got arrested, though it looked like would should have been.

New Falcon Parts!

October 1, 2008
The UPS guy showed up right before Gillian and I left for Chris and Kathleen’s wedding.  When the UPS guy shows up, 9 times out of 10 he is bringing me car parts, this time was no exception.  I bought a rack and pinion steering kit, for The Falcon.   So far I have installed; disc brakes on the front and rear and new master cylinder, new rear end gears, new shocks, and new wheels and tires.  Now I can add rack and pinion steering to that list.  No, I haven’t finished building my engine yet!  It is a lot easier to work on the steering with out an engine anyway. I still have to install the steering column.  This will be the hardest part because it involves me getting my head and hands down where my feet would normally go.  I plan to have it running some time during the summer of 2009, possibly with a new 5 speed transmission.
